APN Settings Galaxy S3 Mini – Beginners guide – The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is the smaller version of the Samsung Galaxy S3, running on a 4 inch display.   This runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), however you should be able to upgrade it to the latest Android version- KitKat now.

If you brought the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini from abroad or you bought it unlocked from the internet, it is very likely that you will need to setup the APN Settings on the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini before you can use it to browse the internet or send and receive Multimedia Messages (MMS). The Galaxy S3 MiniAPN or Access Point Names  serves are routing information for your S3 Mini to find the proper server on your mobile phone provider, they are a Must if you want to use the phone to connect to the internet!

Where to configure the APN Settings on the Galaxy S3 Mini?

As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy S3 Mini runs on Android version 4.1 and later.  They usually come with a Samsung proprietary Android version (touchwiz) which is a enhanced/tweaked version of the operating system specially designed by Samsung for their phones.

To do this on the Galaxy S3 Mini, go to the phone’s main Screen, and look for Settings

Now look for where it says Wireless and Networks

Now go to the option where it says Mobile Networks

And finally select Access Point Names

Before continuing, I personally recommend deleting any existing APN on your Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.  To do so, select the existing APN settings on it, and then you will have an option that says Delete APN.  Repeat this step for any other APN Settings which might be on your phone.

Once you have cleaned up any APN Settings on the Galaxy S3 Mini, you should select NEW APN and enter the corresponding APN Values for your operator
