Hi Tom, if the phone is unlocked, you can just buy a SIM card from any carrier and use it

I have a LG X Charge that I purchased from Best Buy. It said it was for an MVNO Unreal Mobile which apparently uses Sprint as its carrier but also has GSM capabilities in addition to CDMA. I currently can make calls and send/receive texts but no data and am not able to add APN to phone when Red Pocket (ATT MVNO) sim card is inserted. When I use a Tello (Sprint MVNO) I am able to add their APN to the phone. Is there such a thing as “partially unlocked” phone that would result in the above?
